Lake Junaluska, NC – “Standing on Holy Ground” is the theme for the 2013 Summer Worship Series at Lake Junaluska, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
The Summer Worship Series runs Sundays, June 16 – August 11, with Holy Communion offered at 8:30 a.m. in Memorial Chapel, and a traditional morning worship service held at 10:45 a.m. in Historic Stuart Auditorium. The Junaluska Singers provide worship music; guest speakers lead the worship service. Childcare is provided for the 10:45 a.m. worship service.
Rev. Charles Anderson will preach the 10:45 a.m. service Sunday, Aug. 4, at Stuart Auditorium.
Anderson is the directing pastor at University United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas. He has served at University UMC since 2006. During Anderson’s time at University UMC, the congregation has started two additional campuses. His passion for new congregations began in 1985 when he served as a founding pastor of a new congregation that grew to more than 1,200 members in five years.
Anderson is a graduate of Baylor University and earned his Master of Divinity at Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He served in the New Life Mission and Key Event evangelism programs of the General Board of Discipleship. He serves on the steering committee for the Large Church Initiative of the UMC, and was the host pastor for LCI 2010.
