LAKE JUNALUSKA, N.C. – Join together with colleagues in the Diakonate and find community and rest at Lake Junaluska’s 2010 Deacon/Diakonate Gathering, October 24-26, 2010. Rev. Gary Gunderson, Deacon in Full Connection in the Memphis Conference and the Director of Methodist Healthcare in Memphis, will be the Gathering speaker.
The focus of the gathering, “The Diakonate – Bridging Brokenness, Toward Healing and Wholeness,” will center on health, spirituality, and wholeness for those in full-time Ministry and for those they serve in ministry.
There will be time for fellowship with ministry colleagues from the diaconate, as well as Sabbath rest surrounded by the fall beauty of the Smoky Mountains and Lake Junaluska during one of the most beautiful times of year.
“Gary is a United Methodist Deacon and a very engaging presenter; he always brings a deeply spiritual dimension to his event leadership,” said Rev. Roger Dowdy, Director of Ministry and Event Development at Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center.
