Lake Junaluska, NC – “Standing on Holy Ground” is the theme for the 2013 Summer Worship Series at Lake Junaluska, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
The Summer Worship Series runs Sundays, June 16 – August 11, with Holy Communion offered at 8:30 a.m. in Memorial Chapel, and a traditional morning worship service held at 10:45 a.m. in Historic Stuart Auditorium. The Junaluska Singers provide worship music; guest speakers lead the worship service. Childcare is provided for the 10:45 a.m. worship service.
Dr. Tony Campolo will preach at the 10:45 a.m. service, Sunday, Aug. 11, at Stuart Auditorium.
Campolo is a speaker, author, sociologist, pastor and social activist. Over his many years of Christian service, Campolo has challenged millions of people all over the world to respond to God’s boundless love by combining personal discipleship, evangelism, and social justice.
Campolo is professor emeritus of sociology at Eastern University, a former faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania, and the founder and president of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education. He has written more than 35 books, blogs regularly at his website, redletterchristians.org, and can also be found on both Facebook and Twitter. Campolo and his wife, Peggy, live near Philadelphia and have two children and four grandchildren.
