Michelle Waller joins the Junaluska Singers from Atlanta, GA. She is the daughter of Alice and Gary Gilreath of Chattanooga, TN. Her grandparents, Irene and Garfield Gilreath, reside in Knoxville, TN. Michelle is a music teacher, conductor, and performer in Atlanta, GA. Michelle played the female lead role in “Mikado,” “Patience,” and “Le Nozzedi Figaro.” She performed principle roles in “Magic Flute” and “Suor Angelica.” In addition, Michelle has received numerous singing awards from Chattanooga State and UTC. She has also participated in the Intermezzo Young Artist Program affiliated with the New York City Opera, Miami Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera. Her favorite song is “Moon River,” and she likes any music that is big band or swing, including Ella Fitzgerald and Elton John. This is Michelle’s first year with the Junaluska Singers. Her husband, Robert Waller, is also a member of the Junaluska Singers. Michelle attends Dunwoody United Methodist Church.
