Imagine - What would it be like if ministry leaders in local congregations had
the skills to help their parishioners discover what they most deeply wanted and
needed for effective ministry, and then were able to create actions with the
accountability to make them happen?
The Global Coaching Initiative is
designed to equip pastors and ministry leaders with some basic coaching skills
that can be integrated into their local ministry setting. Research and
experience show that coach training can dramatically enhance the ministry
leader’s effectiveness as a leader and greatly increase the impact within their
faith community.
The new discipline of a “coaching approach” to ministry
is founded on two basic truths about vital churches:
· They minister
from their uniqueness - their own passions and talents rather than trying to fit
a preconceived model.
· They know how to implement their ideas with
the clarify and brainstorming help of coaching - bringing them into reality.
Participants in this training will:
· Observe LIVE coaching by Dr.
Larry Ousley, professional coach who is credentialed by the International Coach
Federation (ICF) and is a Faculty member of Coaching4Clergy.
· Gain a
strong understanding of coaching and the distinction between coaching, therapy,
consulting and mentoring.
· Develop and practice some coaching
skills that can be incorporated into the local church setting.
·
Receive a combination of coaching theory and practice.
· Learn a
Five-Step Coaching Model
· Receive Coaching4Clergy’s founder, Val
Hastings’ e-book designed just for this event.
