This spiritual formation event, in the beautiful North Carolina mountains, offers morning and evening sessions focused on being the Body of Christ through service, worship, and community. During the past two summers, youth packaged 70,000 meals for hungry people, partnering with Stop Hunger Now and raised over $14,000 for this amazing mission. Each event includes guest preachers and worship bands. Afternoons are free for groups to plan additional service projects, rafting trips, or to enjoy the swimming pool or boats at Lake Junaluska. These extraordinary weekends are filled with kids from across the Southeast. For youth to worship together from so many diverse backgrounds, and to be unified by their belief in God, is truly inspiring - both for them and for the adults who come with them! The Intentional Growth Center’s Confirmation Retreat Weekends will help confirmands in their spiritual life as they prepare to make a commitment of faith.The focus of our weekends are to augment the curriculum being taught in the local church, with a focus on providing tools to youth that will help them keep their promise when they are confirmed in the Church. The Foundation For Christian Formation in partnership with the Department of Religion at Pfeiffer University, leads a series of weekend events for young confirmands of the United Methodist Church. These events are also designed for the pastors, adult leaders and mentors that accompany the youth on their confirmation journey. Since 2006, the Foundation team has led more than 60 confirmation retreats attended by over 700 churches and 10,000 participants from the conferences of the SE Jurisdiction of the UM Church. M28Camp is now two back-to-back events designed for students and their leaders to grow deeper in a fresh approach to Matthew 28:19 – 20 in a United Methodist/Wesleyan tradition. Through worship, teaching, workshops, D-groups, and entertainment from “321 Improv” and comedian Taylor Mason groups will definitely grow by this summer experience. This year’s speaker/teachers are Rev. Will Rambo (first camp) and Rev. Patrick Quinn (second camp) along with Eddie Willis & the Narrow Path leading worship for both events. Read more
