Folkmoot USA, North Carolina's Official International Festival, is a celebration of the world's cultural heritage through folk music and dance. Make Lake Junaluska your home base for the culmination of the festivities! Our packages make getting away to Folkmoot easy and affordable. Two-night packages start at $135 per person, based on two people in a room.
Folkmoot features performances, parades and workshops by more than 350 performers from a dozen or so countries. Each participating country’s cultural heritage is demonstrated through colorful, authentic and original reproduction costumes, lively dance and beautiful music.
On Saturday, July 27th, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., International Festival Day will be held in Waynesville as Main Street takes on the feel of an old-fashioned world bazaar. Local and regional artisans, crafters and food vendors will join the international groups with items to sell. This is an opportunity to mingle with folk groups and see presentations at either end of Main Street, as well as on the center stage.
On Sunday, July 28th, at 7:00 p.m., the Festival will have its grand finale with a Candlelight Celebration in Stuart Auditorium located on the grounds of Lake Junaluska Conference & Retreat Center.
