Free Event. Portrayers Ashley Calhoun and W. Isaac Holmes will present the remarkably inspiring story of missionary Bishop Walter Russell of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South and Professor John Wesley Gilbert of Paine College traveling together in the Belgian Congo in 1911 and 1912. Free Event. Enjoy a self-guided tour through the remodeled 1913 Lake Junaluska train station. The station was moved and remodeled as a permanent residence in the 1960s. The original blue prints for the station will be on display outlining its original design; including the station master’s office, ticket window, and the small waiting room. - Re-enactment of Historic Lake Crossing, 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Free Event. For many years, guests attending the conferences at Lake Junaluska arrived from Waynesville via train. The original station was “Tuscola,” a flag stop on Old Clyde Road across from the current location of Long’s Chapel UMC. With the opening of the new train Depot, guests made an impressive sight as they walked from the train station, down to the lakeshore where they boarded the “Cherokee” boat and make their way across the lake to Stuart Auditorium. Everyone is invited to re-enact the experience of the first 1913 guests arriving at Lake Junaluska. Participants are encouraged to dress in period costume. - A Junaluska Ghost Story (Atkins / Stuart Drama), 7:30 p.m. – Stuart Auditorium
Free Event. The ghosts of James Atkins and George R. Stuart, the founders of Lake Junaluska, meet and discuss the birth and early years of Lake Junaluska. - Porch Fellowship - 9 p.m. - Harrell Center

A special reunion luncheon for couples who met at Lake Junaluska. - Tour of Historic Homes - 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
A walking and ride-by tour of homes and lodges in the area surrounding Atkins Loop, named for “founding father” Bishop James Atkins. This neighborhood has been described by Junaluska historian Bill King as the “site of the original footprints for the residential life of the Assembly.” Tickets are $10, and proceeds will go to support the Women’s Club. - Farm to Table Dinner – 5:30 p.m., Tent beside Stuart Auditorium

(Rain location is the Harrell Auditorium). - Corneille Bryan Native Garden Tour
10 a.m. – 12 noon
Free Event. Enjoy a self guided tour of the Corneille Bryan Native Garden, located on Stuart Circle. The Corneille Bryan Native Garden features unique plant life in the Southern Appalachians. It is a native habitat for as many native N.C. species of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants can be maintained in its limited space. A guide will be available to answer questions during this time period. - Boat parade
