Nantahala River
At the Nantahala River, you'll discover one of the best-loved rivers in the South. This cool clean mountain river is perfect for whitewater rafting first-timers. The shimmering Nantahala River offers whitewater rafting through mild but exciting rapids. Nantahala rafting features eight miles of practice on easy Class II rapids before splashing through the exciting Class III whitewater of Nantahala Falls. This is one of America’s most popular whitewater runs, so expect to see other paddlers playing in the waves.
2013 Nantahala Package:

French Broad River
The French Broad River, where you'll find exciting waves and picturesque views. French Broad whitewater rafting trips take you down the world's third oldest river and is a great activity to add to your Western North Carolina vacation. The stately French Broad flows through scenic Pisgah National Forest in the mountains of North Carolina, and is ideal for families and young teens. On French Broad River rafting trips, you can expect moderate Class II and III rapids that are splashy and fun. The full-day trip option adds the percussive, Class IV Frank Bell's Rapid, a river-wide, bouncy drop. Rafters must be at least 8 years old on the French Broad.

Test your limits on NOC's newest adventure activity. Soar over 600' through the air on the Wesser Zip; then take on a multi-level challenge course as high as 60' above the forest floor. Each level features new obstacles: wobbling sky bridges, confusing spider webs, nerve-racking tight ropes and more exciting ziplining. With all these options, you can pick and choose your challenges based on your abilities.
