LAKE JUNALUSKA, N.C. – Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center welcomes Rev. Carolyn Poling this fall as the Director of Ministries with Young People (MYP) following the departure of Marty Cauley, who is receiving a local church appointment in the North Carolina Conference.
“I’m excited to be joining the Lake Junaluska family and am looking forward to all that God has in store. It’s such an amazing place that has had an impact on so many people. I’m looking forward to being a part of those moments that happen on retreats that sustain youth ministers in their ministry,” said Carolyn Poling.
In addition to developing and expanding ministry events for youth and young adults at Lake Junaluska, the MYP position will include supervision of Lake Junaluska Ministries with Children and Families. Her efforts will expand youth and young adult events like THAW and SURGE, as well as Child Development initiatives like Lake Junaluska’s Summer Day Camp.
“We look forward to welcoming Carolyn to Lake Junaluska. Her experience and welcoming personality indicate that she will be an invaluable asset to further the development of Lake Junaluska’s youth and young adults programs, as well as other programs geared toward children,” said Jimmy L. Carr, Executive Director of Lake Junaluska.
Carolyn is a Deacon in Full Connection in the North Georgia Conference and will receive an appointment to Lake Junaluska in August. She is a graduate of Perkins School of Theology and is presently the Minister with Youth at Elberton First United Methodist Church in Elberton, Georgia.
