Friends of the Lake

Gifts to the Friends of the Lake help Lake Junaluska continue to be a beloved place where the community can enjoy the walking trail, gardens, and breathtaking vistas. The walking trail at Lake Junaluska is one of the most popular privately owned recreation areas in Western North Carolina. 

Friends of the Lake has raised more than $13,000 in 2016. All proceeds go to the annual maintenance and improvement of the walking trail and other recreation opportunities at Lake Junaluska. The annual cost of maintaining the grounds and recreation facilities is more than $250,000.

Friends of the Lake 5K Road Race & Walk

The Friends of the Lake 5K Road Race & Walk is a charitable event to support the recreation opportunities of Lake Junaluska through the Friends of the Lake program. 100% of the proceeds for this event go to the annual maintenance and improvement of the recreation areas at Lake Junaluska which annually costs over $250,000.
