Lake Junaluska, NC – Tennis isn’t just a weekend sport, says local pro Bunnie Allare. It can get your children a college scholarship or gainful employment – if they learn the game properly.
And that’s Allare’s plan for Haywood County– to develop a true junior tennis program with her Tennis Lifesong Summer Camp, set for Tuesdays through Fridays, May 28 through Aug. 23 at Lake Junaluska.
“There’s a lot of tennis here, but there’s not a lot of instruction, from what I’ve seen,” said Allare, who has played at every level of tennis, from local to national, collegiate and international and has 37 years of teaching experience. “We want to give kids a good tennis foundation, because tennis can open the door for many opportunities.”
Allare’s two teaching assistants are USTA (United States Tennis Association) certified instructors.
Register by calling Allare at 513.608.9621, or by visiting www.lakejunaluska.com/tennis or www.facebook.com/tennisLifesong. Players need to bring a tennis racquet and water, and wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothing. Tennis balls will be provided.
