NEW ADVENTURE for 2010, Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours! Enjoy a soaring and gliding experience naturally fueled by a gradual elevation change at Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours (NGCT). It takes limited energy to participate and is not designed to scare with big drops as much as excite with smooth gliding. Great trip for families. Fully Guided. - Day 1: Outdoor BBQ Dinner and climbing wall after 1/2 day rafting adventure on the Pigeon River (available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday)
- Day 2: Canopy 1/2 day Zip Line Tour (Canopy Tour accomodated 10 persons every 45 minutes)
Sleep in at Lake Junaluska and awake refreshed for your fun-filled day. You and your group will enjoy a bountiful breakfast buffet. Lake Junaluska provides you with a packed lunch to enjoy at one of the many hiking spots along the short drive to Wildwater's outpost for your rafting adventure down the Pigeon River. A personal guide will lead each raft as you splash down 5 miles of Class III-IV rapids. Once you have experienced the exhiliration of running the rapids, you and your group will have the opportunity to trade your rafting gear for a climbing helmet and harness as you challenge Wildwater's climbing wall. To complete your day, Wildwater will provide a hearty barbeque dinner served at their Riverside Pavilion.
