Lake Junaluska Library

Offering limited in-person services

Located in the Harrell Center next to Junaluska Gifts & Grounds, the Lake Junaluska Library is home to almost 10,000 books. The collection is a mixture of fiction and non-fiction with a special emphasis on theology, self help, history, travel and children's books. The collection continues to grow and change, adding new books every week.

Open Hours: 2-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday

The library is open year-round and welcomes visitors, residents and community members to check out a book. Books can be checked out for up to two weeks and there are no overdue charges.

Can't find a book you're looking for? Our helpful volunteers are happy to order books for you. We also offer a special section of large print books, as well as an ever-rotating selection of books for sale.

The library is currently offering limited in-person services and additional measures to promote health and safety:

  • Face masks covering the mouth and nose will be mandatory for staff and all library visitors 5 years and older.
  • Children younger than 15 years old must be with a supervising adult at all times in the library.
  • Public seating will not be available.
  • Library programs will not be scheduled or held, and non-library meetings will not be booked or held at this time.
  • Due to limited occupancy and concern for public and staff safety, library visitors are asked to make visits as brief as possible - no more than 30 minutes.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at the entrance.
  • Checkout services will be provided by library staff.
  • Shared surfaces will be frequently cleaned and disinfected.
  • Older adults, those with underlying health conditions, and others at heightened risk from communicable diseases are encouraged to limit time in the libraries.
  • Those who are sick are asked to stay home.
  • Library items to be returned may be placed on the return cart to be sanitized and quarantined.
  • Library book returns and checkouts are only available when the library is open.
