Enjoy the Water

Swim at Lake Junaluska's lakeside outdoor seasonal swimming pool, or rent a canoe, kayak or standup paddleboard from our Recreation Hut to expore the lake. Also nearby are tennis/pickleball courtsmini golf, a playground, shuffle board, lakeside walking trail, golf course and more. Tours on Lake Junaluska's Cherokee IV pontoon boat will be available soon!

Canoe, Kayak and Paddleboard Rentals

Lake Junaluska boat rentals are open Thursdays-Sundays from September 10, 2020, to October 25, 2020.

NEW! Late Summer/Fall Hours (Through October 25, 2020, weather permitting):

  • Thursday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m.-6 p.m.

Rental Cost

  • $10 per person for one hour

How It Works

  • Purchase a canoe, kayak or stand up paddleboard rental pass from the Recreation Hut (located next to the pool), or reserve a canoe, kayak or paddleboard online and stop by the Recreation Hut upon arrival.
  • Present the pass to the recreation attendants at the beachfront, and the attendant will assist you with getting your equipment out onto the water.
  1. Reserve Boat or Paddleboard

Be advised recreation attendants monitor the water, but there is no lifeguard on duty. Participation in water activities is at your own risk.

Please note that fishing from rental boats is not allowed. Learn more about fishing regulations and areas at Lake Junaluska.

Swimming Pool

Extended Late Summer Hours (September 8-27, 2020) 

  • Thursday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m.-8 p.m.

Hours may vary for weather and private events. Pool parties may affect hours on Sunday and Tuesday evenings.

Admission

Pool admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that to comply with North Carolina Executive Order No. 141, which is in effect through June 26, 2020, the Lake Junaluska Aquatic Center will operate at reduced capacity, with no more than 100 people allowed in at one time and no more than 45 people permitted in the water at the same time. Visit our health and safety page to read more about what we are doing at the aquatic center and across Lake Junaluska to help protect our guests, our community and our staff members.

  • Daily Pool & Activity Pass 
    • ‚Äč$10 per person per day.
    • $25 per immediate family per day with $3 additional per person after 4 people.
    • Includes admission to the pool, a round of mini golf and a game of shuffleboard.
    • Enables pool guests to leave the pool and return on the same day at no additional cost. (If the pool is at maximum occupancy when pool guests return, however, they may have to wait to re-enter until other guests leave the aquatic center.)
    • Available for purchase at the Lake Junaluska Recreation Hut next to the pool.

  • Summer Activity Pass
    • $275 
    • Features unlimited admission to the pool during regular pool hours through Monday, September 7, 2020, for up to four family members. Fifth and sixth family members can be added to a pass for an additional $45 per person.
    • Other benefits:
      • 10 percent discount on on-site dining (cannot be applied to any other discounts or special offers, cannot be used on The Terrace to-go drive-through meals, and is only available June 5 - September 7, 2020)
      • 10 percent discount at Junaluska Gifts & Grounds
      • 10 percent discount on food at the Lake Junaluska Golf Course
      • $5 discount on a round of golf at the Lake Junaluska Golf Course 
      • 10 percent discount on kayak, canoe and paddleboard rentals (Up to 4 people per visit)
      • One complimentary rental of tennis/pickleball racquets for use at tennis/pickleball courts
    • Available for purchase at The Terrace front desk daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Passholder required to show their pass and identification at the pool entrance to gain admission.
       

Lodging guests of Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center enjoy complimentary pool access. Guests are required to show the wristbands they were issued at check-in at the pool entrance.

Pool Information

The Lake Junaluska Aquatic Center is located at 77 Memory Lane in Lake Junaluska, N.C.

  • Swim at your own risk. “No Lifeguard on Duty” signs posted.
  • Children 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • No food is permitted at the pool.
  • No glass bottles permitted at the pool.
  • No running or rough play.

Want to host a pool party?

When the pool opens for the season, private pool events are $275 and may be held Sundays or Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. To book a private pool event, contact Group Sales at 828-454-6650 or groupsales@lakejunaluska.com

Note: North Carolina Executive Order No. 141, which is in effect through June 26, 2020, limits outdoor gatherings to 25 people.

COMING SOON! Children’s birthday parties during regular pool hours will be offered for $140 and include:

  • 2-hour admission to the pool for swimming for up to 20 attendees.
  • Includes sheet cake, soda and ice cream.
  • Designated area for your party.

Note: Children’s birthday pool parties will not be available during Phase Two of reopening in North Carolina. North Carolina Executive Order No. 141 is in effect through June 26, 2020.
