Pool and Recreation

Lake Junaluska offers a lakeside outdoor swimming pool as well as canoe, kayak and stand up paddle board rentals. Also nearby are tennis couts, mini golf, a playground, shuffle board, walking trail, golf course and more.

The pool is open to the public Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.

Pool 

  • Daily admission to the pool is $6 per person or $20 per family per day (4 person max).  
  • Weekly pool passes can be purchased at the recreation hut for $25/person.

Daily passes can be purchased in the Recreation Hut. Admission is free to lodging guests and membership holders.

Memorial Day – Labor Day:
Monday – Saturday: 10 a.m. 8 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. 8 p.m.

Activity passes and signature will be required at pool check-in. The pool can be reserved for private parties on Tuesdays and Sundays from 5:30-8 p.m., so the pool may close early some weeks at that time. Please call the pool at 828-246-0908 to see if hours have changed. 

Rules and Regulations

  • Children 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
  • No food is permitted at the pool
  • No glass bottles permitted at the pool
  • No running, rough play, etc.
  • Swim at your own risk. No lifeguard on duty.
  • Trained Pool Monitors on duty.
  • Private parties available upon request at the Bethea Welcome Center.

Canoe, Kayak and Paddle Board Rentals

Boat rentals are purchased from the Lake Junaluska Recreation Hut next to the Kern Center.

Memorial Day – Labor Day:
Monday – Saturday:  10 a.m. 8 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. 8 p.m.

Labor Day – October 27:
Saturday: 10 a.m. 6 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. 6 p.m.

Cost:

  • $5 per person for 30 minutes for canoe or kayak
  • $10 per person for 1 hour on paddle boards.

Boat and paddle board passes may be purchased at the Recreation Hut. Guests must present boat pass to Recreation Attendants at the beachfront and the attendant will assist them in getting the equipment onto the water.

Shuffleboard, Tennis and Mini Golf

Equipment Rental for Shuffleboard, Tennis, Mini Golf

  • Proper ID will be requested.
  • Rental equipment is managed through the Rec Hut.
  • Mini golf - purchase ball for $5 and play unlimited rounds.
  • Shuffleboard - cue and puck $5 rental fee, Free to Lake Junaluska lodging guests and pass holder.
  • Tennis - Racket rental is $5/person. New tennis balls for sale. $5 for 3 balls. Courts are open during daylight hours.

A parent or guardian must accompany children. Equipment can be rented out from the Recreation Hut. Recreation Attendants will be monitoring to ensure that guests are not walking on the courts or making improper use of equipment.

2019 Summer Activities Pass 


The Summer Activity Pass is available for all persons interested in using our facilities. Summer Activity Passes will be available for purchase at the Bethea Welcome Center.

  • Lake Junaluska Residents: $145 (up to four persons per family)  

Verified home owners living within Lake Junaluska Assembly, Inc. property. Additional $30 per person for families larger than 4 people; up to 6 person maximum.

  • Non-Residents: $220 (up to four persons per family) 

Additional $45 per person for families larger than 4 people; up to 6 person maximum.

Memberships receive the following services and offers:

  • Free admission to the Lake Junaluska Swimming Pool up to 4 people.
  • 10% dining discount at the Lambuth Inn and The Terrace (cannot be applied to any other discounts or special offers and only available between Memorial Day and Labor Day)
  • 10% discount at Junaluska Gifts & Grounds and Golf Course Snack Bar
  • $1 off boat rentals up to 4 people, per visit
  • $5 off a round of golf at the Lake Junaluska Golf Course 
  • Free Cherokee IV Pontoon Boat Tour for up to 4 people, as space is available and as long as other groups have not rented Cherokee IV for private tours. 

Each Summer Activities Pass must be presented at time of service and are non-transferable.  Activities passes will be available for purchase at the Bethea Welcome Center during regular hours.
