Winter Youth Retreats

January 26–28

Theme: Embrace Winter. Embrace the Word.

"For as the rain and snow come down from heaven...so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth."

Isaiah 55:10-11

Over two days, participants will enjoy engaging preaching and energizing worship! Lake Junaluska offers incredible winter programming where groups can customize their experience by choosing to ski, zipline or do mission work during their time at the lake.

Cecilia Tucker

Cecilia Tucker (Speaker) attended a Lake Junaluska youth event last summer where she quickly won over everyone around her with her warmth, wit, and feats of physical strength! For many years, youth across Florida read her “Indomitable Teens” advice series in the media and listened to her radio advice show where she and teen hosts answered questions about bullying, eating disorders, adoption, social alienation, peer pressure and more. In her spare time, she plays tennis, Pickleball, bikes, hikes, kayaks, does boot camp, and plays with her King Charles Cavalier, Izzy.

The Advice

The Advice (Worship Band) The band formed in 2003 and their name, The Advice, has strong Biblical ties. It refers to a passage from Exodus in which Moses' father-in-law is telling him he'll need help in his mission and to appoint leaders over the tribes of Israel. The band feels that life can't be lived alone - that we all need help and advice to get through difficult times. Their uplifting message is accompanied by a popular contemporary Christian sound that appeals to youths and adults alike.
