Mountain Faith to perform
Mountain Faith is a contemporary bluegrass band from Sylva, NC. Their unique Appalachian blend of bluegrass, folk, R&B and pop music brought them to the semifinals of the NBC show America’s Got Talent in 2015. They have also appeared on Daystar and were nominated for the SPBGMA Bluegrass Music Awards.
The band features Sam McMahan (bass) and his two children, Summer (fiddle, lead singer and harmony) and Brayden (banjo and harmony), from Sylva, North Carolina. Other members include Chris Wright (drums), Cory Piatt (mandolin), and brothers David Meyer (guitar, fiddle and piano plus vocals) and Jimmy Meyer (rhythm guitar and harmony) from the award-winning Meyerband. Since 2000, Mountain Faith has played their unique brand of music to audiences at colleges, civic centers, auditoriums, arenas, fair grounds, festivals, parks, and churches across the United States and Canada.
“We are excited to have chosen this band not only for their unique style of music, but more importantly, because they are a family band from Western North Carolina sharing and celebrating our Appalachian heritage of music,” said Sarah Tippett, who is organizing the event.
