Balsam Range and the Lake Junaluska Singers will perform as part of the Independence Day Celebrations at Lake Junaluska July 2-4.
Celebrated bluegrass band Balsam Range kicks off the concerts on Saturday, July 2 in Stuart Auditorium. The Lake Junaluska Singers take the Stuart Auditorium stage on Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4. All concerts start at 7:30 p.m. in Stuart Auditorium, and doors open an hour before the show.
All five of Balsam Range’s members hail from Western North Carolina. Their achievements are as wide-ranging as their acclaim. The ensemble has five albums and its members play fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar and other instruments. Each member brings something unique to the table and their eclectic sound incorporates elements of swing, gospel, jazz and Americana.
“We are so excited to be back at Lake Junaluska on July 2 to kick off an incredible weekend of concerts and celebration of Independence Day,” said Buddy Melton, lead vocals for Balsam Range. “Stuart Auditorium is one of our favorite places to perform. It has a special atmosphere and energy the creates a wonderful and fun experience for all.”
The Lake Junaluska Singers are a 16-voice professional ensemble that performs classical choral, gospel, folk, musical theater and contemporary pieces. The group was founded in 1954.

Fourth of July concert tickets are available now online, by phone and at the Bethea Welcome Center at Lake Junaluska. Reserved tickets are $23, general admission are $18 and children 18 and under are free.

The Independence Day Celebrations at Lake Junaluska also include family-friendly activities during the day on July 2 and 3. A family Olympics, anything that floats race and waterski shows are all part of the fun during the days leading up to the holiday. On July 4, there is a parade, barbecue picnic and fireworks show. All events are free and open to the public – everyone is invited to attend!
