Changes to July 4 Concerts at Lake Junaluska

Nicole C. Mullen will perform in place of the Lake Junaluska Singers on July 3 and July 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Stuart Auditorium at Lake Junaluska. The concerts will be free of charge.

Mullen is an undeniably talented artist who infuses scripture into her songs. Her sincerity and artistic integrity have been recognized with two Grammy Award nominations and seven Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. She has toured across the U.S. as a speaker and singer, and she has frequently performed at Billy Graham and Women of Faith events.

Kylie Mowry will open for Mullen. Mowry is a musical artist based out of New York City. She has performed and sung in various venues and theaters across the country.

The concert changes come as the result of the suspension of the 2016 season of the Lake Junaluska Singers and the resignation of Dr. Melodie Galloway, who has directed the Singers since 2009.

“On behalf of Lake Junaluska, I want to thank Dr. Melodie Galloway for her service,” said Jack Ewing, executive director of Lake Junaluska. “The Lake Junaluska Singers are an integral part of the ministry of Lake Junaluska. We fully expect to continue the legacy of the Lake Junaluska Singers in the future under new leadership.”

Refunds for general admission Lake Junaluska Singers concert tickets are available at the Bethea Welcome Center at Lake Junaluska. Tickets sold online will automatically be refunded to the purchaser’s credit card. For more information about refunds, call 800-222-4930.

Balsam Range will still perform Saturday, July 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Stuart Auditorium. Tickets are available for purchase at the Bethea Welcome Center or 800-222-4930.

Other July 4 activities will not be affected. Lake Junaluska will host a parade on July 4 at 11 a.m., followed by a barbecue picnic with live bluegrass music and children’s activities. At 9:30 p.m. there will be a spectacular fireworks display over the lake.

Lake Junaluska was founded in 1913. Lake Junaluska is a place of Christian hospitality where lives are transformed through renewal of soul, mind, and body.
