Fourth of July Traffic Changes at Lake Junaluska


Lake Junaluska is honored to host its annual Independence Day celebration on July 4, 2015. The parade "Home is Where the Heart Is" will start at Lambuth Inn and proceed along N. Lakeshore Drive to Weldon Way and conclude at the Nanci Weldon Gym.

A BBQ lunch at the gym will follow; meal tickets will be available for purchase onsite. The fireworks display over the lake is scheduled for approximately 9:30 p.m.

Please note the following traffic pattern changes at Lake Junaluska due to the parade and fireworks:

  • N. Lakeshore Drive traffic will be halted along the parade route from 11 a.m. until the parade's finish.
  • The Trolley will run Lambuth Inn to the Nanci Weldon Gym from 9-10:40 a.m. and 12 p.m. until finish.
  • The bridge and dam will be closed to vehicle traffic at 8 a.m. The walking path at the dam will be closed from 2 p.m. - Midnight.
  • S. Lakeshore Drive will be one way from the East Gate to Harmon Rd. from 4 p.m. - Midnight.
  • Exiting S. Lakeshore Drive/Hwy 19 traffic must turn right toward Maggie Valley.
  • Exiting N. Lakeshore Drive /Hwy 19 traffic must turn right toward Maggie Valley.
  • Parking in the lot below the bridge will be allowed until the lot is full.
