Orders for the Lake Junaluska Annual Plant Sale will be taken by phone and available for pick-up from the Lake Junaluska greenhouse on Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2.
The advance ordering and curbside pick-up process replaces in-person shopping for the event, which was originally scheduled for April 24-25 and May 1-2. The changes are designed to support health and social distancing recommendations during the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are excited to offer this format for the sale so we can safely share with the community some of the beautiful plants we have been growing,” said Melissa Tinsley, landscaping manager at Lake Junaluska. “This plant sale also directly supports landscaping at Lake Junaluska. The grounds and gardens here are open for all to enjoy and are made possible through charitable giving.”
The more than 2,000 plants for sale include annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, roses and bulbs. They range from plants propagated from Lake Junaluska’s Biblical Garden to colorful, original Coleus cross-bred on the grounds. Offerings also include mixed hanging baskets.
The 2020 Lake Junaluska Plant Sale Catalog features photos, plant names, sizes and pricing, and is available online from the plant sale website www.lakejunaluska.com/plants. The quantities of each plant available will be updated daily.
