Lake Junaluska Golf Course will host a three-person scramble format St. Patrick’s tournament on Saturday, March 14.
The event begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start.
“This tournament is a lot of fun and celebrates legendary golfer Bobby Jones, who was born on St. Patrick’s Day in 1902,” said Fred Edwards, director of golf operations at Lake Junaluska. “Jones made so many contributions to this sport, and he would have been approaching the prime of his career when the Lake Junaluska Golf Course was built in 1919.”
The entry fee of $40 per person for the St. Patrick’s Golf Tournament includes green fee, cart fee, prize payout and a helping of Irish stew.
The scramble format involves 3-person teams where each player on the team hits a tee shot, and then the players decide which shot they like best. The three players then play from that spot and continue the process until the hole is complete.
