Lake Junaluska to Hold Annual Fall Beautification Volunteer Days in October

Lake Junaluska — Keeping the gardens beautiful and thriving at Lake Junaluska is a large but rewarding task, and volunteers are an important part of that effort. This October, everyone is invited to join the Lake Junaluska landscaping team on Wednesdays from 9–11 a.m. for Fall Beautification Days.

“Last fall, we had a very successful two days of community help in our gardens,” says Landscape Manager Melissa Tinsley. “We wanted to expand that opportunity this year to help clean up the main gardens around our grounds. Teams will be cutting back perennials, pulling annuals and weeding flower beds at several key locations such as Bethea  Welcome Center, Harrell Center, The Terrace Hotel, Lambuth Inn, Memorial Chapel gardens and the Susanna Wesley Garden.”

Volunteers can sign up for a single morning or for multiple mornings and should meet at the following places: the Memorial Chapel parking lot on October 6, The Terrace Hotel parking lot on October 13, the Welcome Center parking lot on October 20, and the Lambuth Inn parking lot on October 27.

Masks will not be required since work will be outdoors, but social distancing will be practiced. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own tools and gloves. Cold bottled water will be provided for all participants.
