The memorial service for Riley Howell, a Haywood County native whose life was tragically cut short on the campus of UNC-Charlotte on April 30, will be held at Stuart Auditorium, Lake Junaluska, on Sunday, May 5, at 5 p.m.

The service will be open to the public and streamed live at www.lakejunaluska.com/streaming. The Reverend Dr. Robert M. Blackburn will officiate. Doors will open to Stuart Auditorium at 4 p.m. Local law enforcement will help manage traffic flow.
Guests are invited to park in the Memorial Chapel parking lot near Stuart Auditorium and along the Rose Walk. Overflow parking is available at Lambuth Inn, near the pool, near the Wilson Children’s Complex and at the Bethea Welcome Center. The Lake Junaluska trolley and minibus will offer shuttle services to and from parking areas.
Community members have begun a memorial in front of Stuart Auditorium, and all are welcome to add to it. The memorial will be on display through Monday, May 6, when notes and other items will be passed along to the Howell family.
A visitation is also planned for Saturday, May 4, at the Wells Events and Reception Center from 5-8 p.m.
