Lake Junaluska is prominently featured as the cover image for the October issue of Our State magazine. This special issue celebrates mountains and autumn color. It is arriving in subscribers' mailboxes now and on newsstands by October 1.
Our State magazine has a monthly readership of more than one million people – the most read magazine in North Carolina. An additional full-page fall photograph of Lake Junaluska is featured inside on page 120.
“We are honored to be featured as one of the most scenic locations in North Carolina,” said Ken Howle, executive director of Lake Junaluska. “The vista across Lake Junaluska of the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains captures the best this region has to offer. We look forward to hosting guests this fall who are looking for a place of inspiration and renewal during these difficult times.”
This exposure is a big boost for the non-profit conference center as it continues to rebound from the loss of more than $4 million of group business due to COVID-19 related cancellations. New packages and specials at The Terrace hotel have successfully started attracting more families and couples – many of them visiting Haywood County for the first time. The new Terrace Bistro lakeside restaurant opened and is now open Wednesday-Sunday. After a very successful run this summer, the evening boat cruises will continue through October. In addition, Lambuth Inn is set to reopen in early October.
