Rev. Lisa Yebuah will be the first guest preacher during the Lake Junaluska Summer Worship Series in Stuart Auditorium Sunday, June 14. Lake Junaluska offers world class preachers each summer during its annual Summer Worship Series, scheduled for Sundays, June 14 through August 9.
Rev. Lisa Yebuah is the Pastor of Inviting Ministries at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC where her passion is cultivating a beautiful marriage between the church and the world – making God famous – catching glimpses of resurrection. She says, "I wouldn’t want to spend my life doing anything else."
Born in Nashville, TN, Lisa grew up in the low country of South Carolina where she was actively involved in ministry leadership from a young age. A sought after preacher and leader of events for all ages, she spent her summers in college at Lake Junaluska leading the SEJ Youth Ministry Team. She has an undergraduate degree from Wofford College and her M.Div. from Duke Divinity School.
“The beauty of the Summer Worship Series is that it offers a variety of services and world-class speakers, preachers, and the Lake Junaluska Singers, Martin said.
Each Sunday during the Worship Series, adult Sunday School will be offered at 9:30 a.m. at the Harrell Center, followed by traditional morning worship at 10:45 a.m. in historic Stuart Auditorium, with guest preachers. Inspirational worship music will be provided by The Lake Junaluska Singers. Childcare is offered at the 10:45 a.m. service for children six months old and older at the Wilson Children’s Complex, 21 Shackford Hall Road.
Each Monday, a Taize Service Of Prayer And Song will be held at 8 p.m. in Memorial Chapel. This service, Martin said, is a contemplative service in a casual atmosphere, modeled after the Taize Community in France, where participants engage in simple repetitive songs, scripture, candlelight, and silence. “The Taize service offers space to slow down from our busy lives and spend time listening to God,” Martin said.
