Lake Junaluska Wedding Policies & FAQs

When you are planning your wedding at Lake Junaluska, please be aware of the following guidelines and policies.

Lake Junaluska Wedding Policies

-A two-hour rehearsal is scheduled on the afternoon/evening the day before the wedding ceremony. 
-A two-hour time frame in the ceremony  location is provided with the start time guaranteed  90 days prior to the wedding date.
-Wedding ceremonies are allotted a four-hour time period, which includes set-up, usage and removal of any decorations you wish to take with you.
-There may be groups and/or conferences conducting meetings and other activities at Lake Junaluska during your wedding event that may affect parking and/or generate noise interference.
-Lake Junaluska  provides the  facility for your wedding along with catering and/or audio/visual items if ordered. The wedding party is responsible for all additional details associated with a wedding (planner, flowers, musicians, officiant).  

Information for weddings in the Memorial Chapel:

-When available, additional time may be reserved for $100.00 per hour.
-Decorations may not be placed in the Chapel prior to the assigned time period.
-The altar, pulpit chairs and organ may not be moved at any time.
-The restroom in the Chapel is closed November to April. There are restrooms available in the Harrell Center.
-The Bishop’s Lounge in Stuart Auditorium may be used as a dressing room, depending on availability. It is not available during the winter months. The fee is $100.00 for four hours’ use.
-The Columbarium (also known as The Room of Memory), connected to the Chapel through the breezeway, may be used by the bride as a staging area prior to the wedding. We ask that it not be used as a dressing room.
-Open flames are not allowed, with the exception of candles used as part of the service (“In Memory Of” or “Unity” candle).  

Information for weddings at Amphitheater, Colonnade and Inspiration Point:

-Seventy-five (75) chairs will be provided for your guests at the Colonnade and Inspiration Point. Additional chairs may be reserved for a surcharge. Chairs cannot be placed at the Amphitheater.
-Due to the inherent nature of an outdoor ceremony, a rain back-up will need to be communicated to your coordinator no later than 14 days prior to the wedding. A rain backup is not typically included as part of the wedding contract.  
-‚ÄčLake Junaluska is not responsible for items left in any facility.
-Artificial items such as thrown silk rose petals, confetti of any type, rice, glitter and other similar items may not be used on the grounds of any venue. A cleaning fee of $200 will apply if these items are used.
-The lake is occasionally drained from November to April for maintenance and repairs to the dam.  It may also be drained at other times of the year when necessary.  Please be aware that the lake may not be at full capacity at the time of your ceremony.
-Receptions are allotted a six-hour time period, which includes all set-up and clean-up.
-When available, additional time in your reception facility may be reserved for $100.00 per hour. Additional time can only be reserved within fourteen (14) days of event.
-A room diagram of the reception venue will be available so that a Set-up Plan for table and chair placement can be created. Please return this completed diagram fourteen (14) days prior to event.
-Lake Junaluska provides the venue, with tables and chairs. White tablecloths (with a ten-inch drop) are provided.  All other details will be provided by the wedding party.
-Lake Junaluska does not offer wedding cakes; this is the responsibility of the wedding party. Wedding cakes must come from a licensed and inspected kitchen.
-Lake Junaluska does not engage in the sale of alcoholic beverages to individuals and/or groups. For private events where alcohol will be provided by the group, the conference center must have a signed copy of the “Private Events: Alcoholic Beverages Policy Agreement” on file from an authorized signer for the group.
-All catering selections must be submitted at least thirty (30) days prior to the reception.
-All catering orders are subject to NC state sales tax currently at 7% and 18% gratuity.
-Final numbers for guests attending must be submitted fourteen (14) days prior to the reception.
-Full payment is due at least 14 days prior to the event and is non-refundable and non-transferable.
