The health, safety and welfare of our guests and staff is of utmost importance. During this time of heightened public health concern, Lake Junaluska has implemented enhanced cleaning, sanitation and social distancing processes pursuant to guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and other leading health and industry experts. Lodging currently available at Lake Junaluska includes
The Terrace hotel and vacation rentals. The campground will have a limited reopening to RV campers on Friday, May 22.
In addition, given the unique circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we are committed to helping our guests book with confidence by providing the travel flexibility to cancel their reservations up to 24 hours in advance.

You will be able to open your hotel room window for fresh air. Hospital-grade sanitizers will be used to disinfect your room. In lobbies and public areas, sanitation technicians will sanitize and clean all high-touch points such as door handles and elevator buttons at least four times each day. Hard surfaces at the front desk will be sanitized continually throughout the day. Hand sanitizer will be available at the front desk and main entrance of The Terrace hotel and at all Lake Junaluska guest service areas. Check-In Only registered lodging guests and staff will be permitted inside The Terrace hotel. Plexiglas screens are in place at The Terrace front desk and other customer service counters at Lake Junaluska. Guests will be asked to maintain social distance while waiting in line. Room key cards will be sanitized before you receive them. Breakfast at The Terrace Boxed continental breakfasts will be available each morning for guests. Dining will be available on outdoor balconies and in the main lobby. Tables for dining will be spaced at least 6 feet apart. Morning coffee available in The Terrace lobby will be poured by staff members. Housekeeping Services
To minimize risk, limited housekeeping services will be offered during your stay.
Housekeepers will not provide in-room service during your stay. Guests will be asked to put any bagged trash outside their room door each morning. If you request additional clean linens such as towels or sheets, a staff member will place a bag with the requested items outside the door to your room. Guests will be asked to place dirty linens to be picked up by staff in a bag by the door outside their rooms. Junaluska Gifts & Grounds Indoor seating has been moved outdoors. Junaluska Gifts & Grounds staff members are wearing masks and gloves. Touchless pay is available. Doors are designated for entrance only or exit only to support social distancing and reduce the need to touch door handles. Spacing of 6 feet apart for social distancing has been marked on the floor. T-shirts that are tried on will be pulled and steamed for sanitation purposes before they are returned to the sales floor. Swimming Pool
To comply with
North Carolina Executive Order 141, which is in effect through June 26, 2020, the Lake Junaluska Aquatic Center will operate at reduced capacity, with no more than 100 people allowed in at one time and no more than 45 people permitted in the water at the same time. Pool chairs will be spaced 6 feet apart and disinfected after use. Hand sanitizer will be available at the pool entrance. The pool monitor will check guests in and wear a mask and gloves. Distances of 6 feet are marked on the floor at restroom sinks and facilities. Restrooms will be cleaned a minimum of 3 times a day. Picnic tables will not be available in the pool area. Personal Flotation Devices will be allowed. Recreational floats will not be permitted. Signs will remind guests to observe social distance and safety precautions. Marked lap lanes will each be available to one swimmer at a time. Social Distancing
Guests will be asked to adhere to the following social distancing practices:
Maintain 6 feet of distance from other guests. Observe one-way travel along the Walking Trail in a clockwise direction around Lake Junaluska. Limit elevator use to four people at the same time. Gatherings in public areas in groups of more than ten people are not currently allowed. Staff Safety Procedures
Our staff have completed health and safety training.
Before beginning work, staff members will complete required health screenings that include temperature checks. Staff will adhere to social distancing practices and wear masks and gloves during interaction with guests at front desks and guest service areas. Staff will follow increased hand-washing and hand sanitation practices pursuant to CDC guidelines. Lake Junaluska Golf Course
Lake Junaluska Golf Course staff and golfers and ensure continued social distancing, the course has implemented the following practices and procedures: The pro shop is open and limited to four customers and one staff member at a time. Players can register and pay ahead of time by calling 828-456-5777. The attendant inside will provide all necessary information to get players on the course in an orderly manner. Only one person is allowed per golf cart unless the players are family members. The golf course will be closed on days with poor forecasts. Extra cleaning and sanitizing of golf carts and all clubhouse and course surfaces throughout the day. Walking the course is allowed. Prohibiting any group gatherings before or after rounds. Limiting cart staff from handling customer golf bags to and from cars or assistance with putting bags on and off carts. Removing pins from practice greens. Removing bunker rakes, ball-washers and other high-touch course supplies. Raising all cups one-inch above the surface – “putt ‘till you hit the cup” and then pick up to eliminate touching the flagstick. Travel Flexibility
